We find out the secrets professional clubs use to prevent injuries

In the third episode of Behind the Beautiful Game, we find out the secrets Premier League clubs use to prevent injuries.

Safety is a top priority for Hankook tyres and elite football clubs. Unfortunately in football, injuries are common.

We spoke to Dr Phil Batty, former head of sports medicine at Blackburn and Manchester City, who was working for the latter in 2012 when they won their first title in 44 years and had the best injury record in the league.

He told Sky Sports: "Players are working to the maximum capacity and inevitably injuries occur. It's a really physical sport to try and it's important to get some sense of injuries and injury management for player availability to their squads.

"A medical team will never win you a league or game, but if you get the calls wrong then it can end up costing you games."

Hankook Tyres in partnership with Sky Sports have been going behind the scenes to look at the latest developments in the game around innovation, performance and safety. Over the coming weeks you can follow the series 'Behind the Beautiful Game' here.
