West Brom forward considering his future before European window shuts

West Bromwich Albion forward Oliver Burke is considering his future before the European window shuts according to The Daily Mail.

The frontman played for Red Bull Leipzig between 2016 and 2017 before his move to the Hawthorns. He has also enjoyed a loan spell at Scottish giants Celtic which proved to be fruitful initially before his form tapered off when Neil Lennon became their boss.

Leipzig splashed out £13million on Burke three years ago after a blistering start to his career at Nottingham Forest, but his progress has stalled since.

Burke has flattered to deceive in recent years and last season he only played three Championship games as then boss Darren Moore kept him on the sidelines. In January, he joined Scottish champions Celtic.

In 19 games, he scored four goals and provided three assists. But the versatile attacker was criticised for his inconsistency while with the Neil Lennon’s side. He returned to West Brom this summer with new manager Slaven Bilic at the helm, ready to stake a first-team claim.

Bilic had expressed his desire to give Burke a chance to prove himself once more but this doesn’t seem to be materialising. In last night’s Carabao Cup defeat to Millwall, Burke looked disinterested. Starting off in a wide role he then moved to centre forward following the withdrawal of Charlie Austin but offered next to nothing.

West Brom fans took to social media and led a scathing attack on the 22-year-old who believe he needs to be moved on and quickly.

On deadline day, West Brom snapped up three wingers – Chris Willock, Matheus Pereira and Grady Diangana – to surely push Burke further down the pecking order especially if last night’s performance is anything to go by.

Having cost Albion £15million they are yet to reap any real rewards from that transfer fee and it could be time to Burke to move on sooner rather than later to kickstart his career once again.
