What do you do if you are Jose Mourinho and have too much time on your hands after being sacked by Manchester United? You do some promotional work at an ice hockey tournament of course.

Mourinho was guest of honour at a Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) match between SKA and Avangard in Russia.

He was invited to drop the puck at the start of the game and, walking out onto the ice on a red carpet, everything was going swimmingly until he dropped the puck between the two captains, turned to walk back to the side and stacked it.

It is not the first time Mourinho has tumbled in public.

The Portuguese took an embarrassing fall at Wembley in September last year. The then Man Utd boss was in attendance to see England slip to a 2-1 defeat to Spain in their opening Nations League game.

He decided to arrive early to beat the crowds but encountered a rather precarious security rope on his way out that got the better of him.

And, just like in Russia today, he did what we would all do - got straight back onto his feet, brushed himself down, smiled and acted like nothing happened.
